Foundation laying ceremony held for renovation of Milagres Cathedral Facade

Udupi: The foundation laying ceremony was symbolically held at Milagres Cathedral last week on the occasion of Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur. The projects will be as Renovation of Cathedral Façade, Repair of Church Roof, Church painting and Houses for poor.

Prior to the foundation laying procedures, prayers were conducted by Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of the Cathedral. Rev Fr. Henry Mascarenhas, Chaplain of Ozanum Home for the Aged and Estate Manager of the Udupi Diocese read out the things which were kept in the entrance of the church portico. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, blessed the box of things, i.e. Rosary, Coin, relic of Our Lady of Miracles etc.

Followed by Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Rev Fr. Henry Mascarenhas, Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha Asst. Parish Priest of the Cathedral, Rev Fr. Denis Lobo, Superior of Pilar Fathers, Rev Fr. Nelson Furtado of Pilar Fathers, Edwin D’Souza, Contractor, Architect, Walter Cyril Pinto, Vice President of Parish pastoral Council and all gurkars of the parish put the cement on the foundation symbolically of the projects at the main entrance of the portico.

Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha, compered the brief programme. Parish Pastoral members, Finance committee members and parishioners witnessed the foundation laying ceremony for the four projects on the occasion of Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the church.
