Foundation stone laid for new market yard in Santhekatte

Udupi: Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister in-charge of district, Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment laid foundation for the new market yard in Santhekatte, Kallianpur of the Gopalpura Ward of Udupi CMC, near Adishakti temple .

Addressing the gathering, Pramod Madhwaraj said, " A new market at the cost of Rs. One crore will be established within one month. We used to see congetsion and traffic problems here due to weekly market being held near NH 66. However now due to establishing of new market, the traffic problems at Santhekatte junction and heavy obstacles for the public will be sorted out. This has been a long demand from local here and I am happy that finally it will be done."

"There will be vast parking place around the new market yard area. Around 1.05 acre of land devoted to the new market place. The work will be held at the earliest and the new market will be active after a month," he added.

Pramod Madhwaraj also inaugurated the new Municipal IDSMT Commercial Complex at the junction of Santhekatte Kallianpur road at Santhekatte.
