GO CLEAN KOWTAL: ‘One child, one tree; one house, one toilet’ says Rev Fr Ivan Pinto, Parish Priest of Church of Risen Christ, Kowtal.

On 16.12.2015 Wednesday at 9.30 ‘Kowtal Swachh Movement’ was grandly inaugurated by Kowtal senior members as the symbol of unity in diversity namely Mr. Ullasappa, Mr. M.D. Haleem and Mr. Kariappa Pujari. Firstly, Navachetana School scouts and guides troop cleaned Government Hospital surroundings at Kowtal on 6.12.2015, in continuation of the Kowtal Swachh Movement under the theme ‘live and let live’. Fr Ivan Pinto initiated this movement in order to bring the message of Christ so that everyone should live a responsible and a dignified life in our motherland. Moreover, he also felt one with Pope Francis saying the year of mercy is for all humanity and MERCY should be gracefully given and received in our day to day living. He pleaded the local people to have the vision and mission for the new year ie.,“one child one tree; one house one toilet”. The special invitee Sri Sri Basavalinga swamiji stressed upon saying that cleaning is not of one day but it should be an ongoing process. First and foremost we all must cleanse our conscience and need to forget ourselves completely for the well being of our fellow beings and for our nature.

This Kowtal Swach Movement was collaborated with Kowtal Town Panchayat, Sevashram Sisters, Self Help Groups and Navachetana School, Kowtal. To this movement many esteemed dignitaries were present namely Mr. Kottukhatira Muttappa Executive Officer of Kowtal Town Panchayat, Rev. Fr Ivan Pinto, Parish Priest of Church of Risen Christ, Sri Sri Basavalinga Swamiji Kowtal, Fr Job, Asst Priest , Sr Divya, Superior of Sevashram, Kowtal, Sr. Kanti, Headmistress of Navachetana School, Mr. Mounesh, Vice- president of Parish Pastoral Council, Kowtal, Mrs. Bhagyamma, Co-ordinator of self help group and Bro. Nelson. To imbibe the spirit of oneness among all religions, especially for this occasion Mr. M. D Haleem and Sri Sri Basavalinga swamiji’s presence was evident to create the religious union in doing this noble mission. Inter religious Christmas celebration will be held on 24th December 2015 at Church of Risen Christ School campus, Kowtal. All the well wishers and friends are cordially welcome to take part in the Joy of our Baby Jesus’ birth.
