Government should simplify the rules for the land registering problems - K. Jayaprakash Hegde

Udupi: The state government should simplify the rules for the land problems. If a person wants to does the survey or conversion of his few cents land, should conduct an entire survey of attached same number which problem to especially for the poor, said K. Jayakumar Hegde former MP and Minister of Karnataka.

He was speaking to media persons at Udupi on Friday, 9th September, he said the state government has introduced a minor policy for sand, due to this the construction of the houses and buildings standstill which workers as well as other related to workers no job. All work even highway, stopped due to the sand and mineral policy of the state government. He requested all concerned elected representatives and MLA’s should take responsibility for the solution of mineral policy for sand immediately. The present sand extraction policy of the government favoured contractors. Local people would not get the sand due to present norms; sand extracted policy had to be auctioned. A policy should be made available for protecting the interest of the traditional sand extractors, he said.

Hegde said that even after three years the state government has not started RTC. During my term Akrama Sakrama land sanctioned, but now that land, however, now not gets RTC for their akrama sakrama land. Government should solve the problems at the earliest.

Asking with Supreme Court verdict on Cauvery water issue, he said that Tamilnadu and Karnataka governments should discuss on water issues and solve the problem. The Supreme Court verdict, the government will take action on the coming days.

K. Jayaprakash Hegde said that the National Highways Authority should consider constructing overpasses or flyovers at some of the busiest intersections of National Highway 66 in Udupi including Kallianpur Santhekatte, Ambalpady, Katpady, Padubidri as there was heavy traffic at these intersections. The NHAI should construct these overpasses and service roads taking into consideration in the traffic requirements of the next fifty years at least. There was lot of traffic at Basrur Murukai intersection in NH66 that often caused huge traffic snarls.

In reply to media persons Jayaprakash Hegde opposed the handing over District Maternity and Children’s Hospital to a private entity. This would adversely affect the poor who need free treatment.
