Government to make available the training facilities to all the beneficiaries: Dr D Veerendra Heggade

The third meeting of the National Level Advisory Committee on RSETIs (NLACR) was held on 06.09.2017 at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi, which was Chaired by Sri Amarjeet Sinha, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development and attended by Principal Secretaries / Mission Directors from select States, Senior executives from RBI, NABARD, Sponsor Banks of RSETIs and officials from various Ministries.

 

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Hon. Co-Chairman, NLACR exchanged the MOU executed for a period of three years from 01.08.2017 between National Academy of RUDSETI and MoRD. The MOU was exchanged between Dr D Veerendra Heggade on behalf of NAR and SmtAlkaUpadhyaya, IAS, Joint Secretary, MoRD on behalf of MoRD at a special event held at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi. Sri K N Janardhana, National Director for RSETIs and Sri R R Singh, Director, General, National Academy of RUDSETI were present on the occasion. The understanding reached will benefit large number of eligible unemployed youth to get the benefit of free training through 586 RSETIs located in 28 States and 4 Union Territories.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, in his address, appealed to the Government to make available the training facilities to all the beneficiaries under Government Sponsored Schemes, which will enable them to acquire the required skills in setting up Micro Enterprises and in this context, requested for making training as a pre-condition for extending subsidy benefit in all the Government Sponsored Schemes. He also requested the Government to take steps to share the list of candidates identified under BPL as well as SECC criteria with RSETIs, so that more number of BPL / SECC Candidates can be trained by the RSETIs. He also called upon the Sponsor Banks and RSETIs to constantly improve their functioning and achieve newer milestones in the coming years.
