Graduation day held at Alva’s Education Foundation

Moodbidri: As many as 2,011 post graduate and under graduate students studying under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Vishveshwarayya Technological University and Mangalore University received degree certificates at the 18th graduation day of Alva’s Education Foundation at K V Subbanna Amphitheatre, Vidyagiri.

Delivering the chief guest address, Dr Shantaram Shetty, chairman, Tejaswini Group of Institutions, said, “Though the purpose of education is to help students get jobs, the real purpose of is to mould the character and help them to become an ideal human being. Graduation day is not just day of receiving our degree certificates, but is the right time to thank our parents, teachers and society who made our journey successful and fruitful.” He urged the students to focus on greater heights and to serve the society in every possible way. “You plan what you want and plan without action is disastrous” he advised. He clearly mentioned role and responsibilities of the teachers, parents and society in betterment of students. He concluded his speech by informing students that failure is success if we learn from it.

Presiding over the function Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva said, “Today Alva’s stands synonymous with educational excellence though holistic education, employable and value ingrained individuals.” He also put across impressive performance of their students in academic, sports and Culture activities retaining the badge of toppers in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Vishveshwarayya Technological University and Mangalore University from past many years.

Prior to the formal function, an academic procession consisting of thousands of graduates of various disciplines marching to the tunes of the Honnavar and Chitradurga band enhanced the magnificence of the celebration. Scrumptious dinner was served for guests, invitees, students, parents and teachers at the end.

Alva’s Education Foundation trustees Vivek Alva, Amarnath Shetty, Jayashri Amarnath Shetty, principlals of various education institutions of Alva’s were present among others.
