Udupi: The state high court (HC) has given Manipal police a week's time to file objections for the bail application moved by Rajeshwari Shetty, prime accused in the murder of her husband, NRI entrepreneur, Bhaskar Shetty.

The bail application filed by Rajeshwari had been turned down by the sessions court a few weeks back. She had thereafter approached the HC seeking relief. When the application came up for hearing, the single judge bench of the HC presided over by Justice Ratnakala had registered the case and ordered issuance of notice to Manipal station police.

When the matter came up before the bench on Friday January 20, it was observed that the policemen had failed to file any objections. Additional public prosecutor, who was present, sought a week's time for filing of objections. Justice Ratnakala upheld his request and adjourned the hearing for a week.
