'Hands on Seed ball preparation' training programme held at St. Agnes College

Mangaluru: The Department of Botany, St. Agnes College (Autonomous) conducted a ' Hands on Seed ball preparation' training programme to the students of Sri Ramakrishna high School, Harekala on 17th of August 2019 at Sri Ramakrishna high school,Harekala.

The final year Botany students as a part of their Agnes Towards Community( ATC) activity visited the Sri Ramakrishna high school, Harekala and trained the students on Seed ball preparation and it's importance in the present urbanising society. The pupils of the school were given a detailed information on the need for seed balls and it's applications.

St.Agnes College Botany students were trained for the same by Deputy Range Forest Officer, Mangalore Division, under whose guidance they were able to demonstrate and give hands on experience to the school children on the preparation of seed balls.

The aim of this activity was to create awareness among the young minds about conservation of the environment and move towards growing more trees,train them about more and more environment friendly approaches.

150 school students were the beneficiaries of this activity who with much enthusiasm expressed their active participation. 40 students of Final year botany conducted the training session.
