Head constable crushed to death in Melkar

Bantwal: A head constable crushed to death by tanker as he was waiting for bus at Melkar in Bantwal on Wednesday. The deceased is Rukmayya (48), head constable of Puttur town police station . He served in Bantwal town, Vittal and other police stations too. He is survived by wife and two Children.

Rukmayya had been to Melkar due to some work and he was waiting for the bus to retun back to Kalladaka. A speeding tanker knocked and crushed him to death. Due to the impact he sustained serious head injuries was rushed to hospital but was declared dead.

A case has been registered in Bantwal police station.
