Helpline Centre ready for CET document verification

Mangaluru (The Hindu): As the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is commencing document verification process as a prelude to the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2016 seat allotment process, the Mangaluru Helpline Centre is ready for the job.

The helpline centre has been set up at the Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management in Adyar near Mangaluru with eight verification counters.

The verification process will start on Friday, according to Saraswathi B., principal of Government Pre University College, B-Muda, Bantwal, who is the Chief Nodal Officer of the helpline.

Ms. Saraswathi told presspersons here on Thursday that the verification counters would be managed by experienced document verification officers deputed from government PU colleges. One network engineer and a software engineer will help the verification process, with 10 data entry assistants.

More than 6,000 candidates are expected to be benefited by the helpline centre, who can walk in for the verification process with original documents and one set of attested photocopy. The documents are: CET application copy, CET hall ticket, SSLC/ CBSE marks card, PUC provisional marks card, seven years of study certificate, caste/ income certificates and Kannada medium/ rural certificate of 10 continuous years.
