Holy Family Church new building inaugurated and blessed at Brahmavar, Udupi

Udupi: The newly built Holy Family Church, Brahmavar was inaugurated by Very Rev Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais, Provincial of Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka and Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese blessed on Wednesday, 28th December, 2016.

Earlier the Bishop was warmly received by Holy Family Church parish priest Rev Fr. Anthony Vaz, Ravi Prakash Gonsalves Vice President of the church and Joshpine Lewis Secretary at Brahmavar Bus stand and with Malpe Brass band, colourful children and large devotees held procession from Brahmavar Bus stand to the church premises.

 

Prior to the inauguration of the Church, Rev Fr. Dominic Veigas and Rev Fr. Denis Saldhana unveiled the plaque at the entrance of the church in the presence of Anthony Vaz, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Dean of Kallianpur Deanery and large number of capuchin and guest priests.

The Eucharistic mass was concelebrated by Bishop along with Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Rev Fr. Victor Fernandes Superior of Holy Family Friary and others.

The Bishop held prayers traditionally and religiously during the mass. The Holy readings books were handed over to the readers at the first time in the newly built church. Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais was read the worlds of God from the Holy Bible.

In his homily Bishop pointed out the necessary of temple of God for the human being. Temple is not need to God, but worshipers of God need the temple to pray and meet God almighty. Temple is an abode of God which devotee can connect the God.

Bishop gave gratitude to Brahmavar parishioners to construct the temple of God. He said the relation between human and God will continue. The thinking of David King in old Testament to build the temple of God not fulfilled. But his son Solomon completed the dream of his father David and built the temple of God. It is the spiritual place to worship the God.

Jesus the founder of the church when he was 12 years of age came to the church. Jesus saw traders doing trade in the temple, then asked traders to clear out from the temple and told the traders that it is the place of God to worship Him and not the place to make business.

Bishop said we need to see the poor and the needy in our society which Jesus wanted to. Jesus is the life of all. We need the church to pray and to meet the God. Meanwhile Jesus through the church meet us in the most deprived, he said.

The huge choir team led by Rev Fr. Roshan capuchin was magnificent one. Rev Fr. Stephen D’Souza Head of Liturgy, Udupi Diocese compered the programme during the mass.

Very huge devotees gathered and participated during the inaugural and blessing of newly built church of Brahmavar. The newly has constructed church which is beautiful and new style. Two huge fans and fantastic sound system will accelerate the devotion in the church.

After the inaugural and blessing ceremony, the stage programme was organized. Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi presided over the stage programme. Very Rev Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais Provincial of Capuchin Community of Karnataka region, Pramod Madhwaraj District in charge Minister and Minister of Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment, Nithyanand V. R. President of Varamballi Grama Panchayat, Saraswathi President of Chantar Grama Panchayat, Rev Fr. Anthony Vaz, Ravi Prakash Gonsalves and Joshpine Lewis were present on the dais.

The stage programme started with beautiful prayer dance. The Bishop inaugurated the programme with lighting the lamp.

The felicitations for donors, contractors, volunteers and others were held during the occasion. The Bishop honoured the Provincial Rev Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais. Bishop also honoured the parish priest Rev Fr. Anthony Vaz, Parish council vice president Ravi Prakash Gonsalves and secretary Josphine Lewis,

In his address Pramod Madhwaraj said that under the leadership of Bishop after the Udupi Diocese came into existence five new churches were constructed and another three churches to built under progress. It is our destiny to inaugurate beautiful new churches in our district.

The contribution of the Christians in the district in the field of education and health will be appreciated. It may the influence of Christian schools that our district going to be first in educational achievements. The Christian educational institutions are role models for others.

In his address Fr. Dolphy Pais remembered the services of Fr. Alfred Roche, the first capuchin parish priest of Brahmavar church. He also remembers other priests for their role in development of Brahmavar parish. He all gave gratitude to the present parish priest and parish council which will going to be very well.

In his presidential address, Bishop also remembered the past priests for the growth of the Brahmavar parish and their contribution in the spiritual development of the church. He gave gratitude to all the parishioners for the construction of huge and beautiful church.

A fellowship meal was served to all the participants of the programme. Around 8mmm devotees witness the proceedings of the inaugural of the new church building.

Earlier Fr. Anthony Vaz welcomed the gatherings. Ravi Prakash Gonsalves proposed vote of thanks while Stephen Lewis and Prakash Lewis compered the stage programme.?
