Home Minister says Government plans to set up forensic lab, DNA centre

Mangaluru: Home Minister G Parameshwara said the government has a plan to set up a forensic laboratory and a DNA centre in the state, he pointed out that forensic and DNA tests are conducted in Hyderabad now and the results are unduly delayed.

He said, "Police Department has to transport samples to Hyderabad or Pune for conducting tests. "he government has plans to set up forensic and DNA test laboratories in the state to help aid in quick disposal of cases," he said.

He lauded the efforts of private medical institutionsfor establishing modern infrastructure in medicine. Parameshwara felt demonetisation has adversely hit the medical fraternity as installation of modern facilities has become difficult.
