ICYM Valencia Unit organises Red Drop Valencia 2018

“If you donate money you give food, But if you donate blood you save life” Taking this quote as an inspiration, the members of ICYM Valencia Unit in association with Wenlock Hospital Blood Bank, Mangalore had organised a blood donation camp with the name “ Red Drop Valencia 2018 ” on account of 72nd Indian Independence Day on August 12 2018 from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Ferrer Hall, Valencia.

Rev Fr James Dsouza Parish Priest, Rev Fr Joswin Dsouza Assistant parish priest Rev Fr Arun Lobo Resident priest, Parish pastoral council secretary Lizzie Pinto, Dr Geetika Doctor Incharge Wenlock Hospital and Shree Latha Blood Bank incharge Wenlock hospital presided over the inaugural programme. Leslita Dsouza Joint Secretary ICYM Valencia Unit welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

Rev Fr James Dsouza in his presidential speech spoke on the importance of blood donation and stressed the parishioners to donate blood. Shree Latha Blood Bank incharge encouraged the gathering to donate blood and pointed out the benefits of donating blood. Venessa Lee thanked all the guests and to those who helped in conducting this event successfully and compered the formal programme.

The event concluded with a grand success with the total of 65 units of blood which were collected at the camp. The entire event was arranged and managed by the members of ICYM Valencia Unit and Wenlock Hospital Blood Bank.
