ICYM Valencia unit organises blood donation camp

Mangaluru: Members of ICYM Valencia unit in association with Wenlock Hospital Blood Bank, organised a blood donation camp ‘Red Drop Valencia 2018’ on account of the 72nd Indian Independence Day at Ferrer Hall, Valencia.

Fr James D’Souza, parish priest, Fr Joswin D’Souza, assistant parish priest, Fr Arun Lobo, resident priest, Lizzie Pinto, secretary, parish pastoral council, Dr Geetika, in-charge Wenlock Hospital and Shree Latha, Blood Bank, in-charge, Wenlock hospital presided over the inaugural programme. Leslita D’Souza, joint secretary ICYM Valencia unit welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

Fr James D’Souza in his presidential speech spoke on the importance of blood donation and stressed the parishioners to donate blood. Shree Latha encouraged the gathering to donate blood and pointed out the benefits of donating blood. Venessa Lee thanked all the guests and to those who helped in conducting the event successfully and compered the formal programme.

The event concluded with a grand success with the total of 65 units of blood which were collected at the camp. The entire event was arranged and managed by the members of ICYM Valencia unit and Wenlock Hospital Blood Bank.
