ICYM helps raise money for blood cancer afflicted boy

Kasargod: The youths of ICYM unit here under the leadership of council committee, lent monetary help to 14-year-old Austin of Vorkady parish, who is suffering from blood cancer.

With the mission, ‘Prajith Kalar Muje Urovni’, the members of ICYM requested every unit president along with unit members to collect amount from members of their parish. As many as 13 parishes supported well enough to collect an amount of Rs 3,71,071.

ICYM Kasargod deanery director Fr Victor D’Souza and ICYM president Jeevan Kollangana handed over the amount to Austin’s family on March 20.

Austin, who lost his father recently, is currently undergoing treatment at Fr Muller Medical Hospital which would cost his family Rs 5 lac. The family which was facing a hard time will heave a sigh of relief due to the timely help from ICYM.
