Impressions 2016 inaugurated

Manipal: “Impressions 16” a national inter-collegiate technical fest and seminar organized by the Department of Printing and Media Engineering, MIT, Manipal was inaugurated by Mr. T Satish U Pai, MD Manipal Media Networks Limited on Friday at the AC seminar Hall MIT, Manipal.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Pai said that the Indian media and entertainment sector was expected to reach $100 billion by 2025 from its estimated size of $17.85 billion in 2015 due to its large capacity to consume new products and businesses.

Mr. Pai appreciated the department’s unique double degree programme in which the students get an opportunity to go to Germany through a scholarship. He was also of the view that the event of this nature would help the students to keep them updated with the latest development in print media and allied industry. Dr B H V Pai, Joint Director MIT, presided over the function. HOD Dr Prakasha Shetty welcomed the gathering.
