Inauguration of Billawa’s International Cricket Tournament at Mulky

ALL BILLAWAS ARE BLOOD RELATIVES: RAMESH KUMAR

Mulki, Feb. 27: The various associations of Billawa community that are providing their service throughout the world, conducted 2 days international cricket tournament today at Vijaya College sports ground Mulky.

Jaya C. Suvarna – the President of Rashtriya Billawa Maha Mandala, Mulky, and the Honorary President of Billawa Sports Committee presided over the function and Ramesh Kumar –the Director of Deepa Comforts Mangalore inaugurated the tournament by lighting the lamp. Vasudeva R. Kotian –the Director of Billawa Association Mumbai, the Director and former Executive President of Bharat Bank hoisted the flag and businessmen Chandrashekara S. Poojary Vadala inaugurated the tournament by releasing the balloons to the sky.

Ganesh A. Bangera of G. B. Construction was present as the chief guest of the inauguration ceremony. Shamina Alva – the Head of the Vijaya College, Sairam – the President of Shri Gokarnanath Kshetra Kudroli, Ashok M. Suvarna – the President of Shri Vishwanatha Kshetra Katapady, Mohan C. Poojary – the founder President of Gujarat Billawa Association, Navin Chandra D. Suvarna – the President of All India Billawa Union, N. T. Poojary – the President of Billawa Jagruthi Balaga Mumbai, L. V. Amin – the former President of Billawa Association were present on the occasion.

All billawas in the world are blood relatives. So they are good relatives. Now Billawas have become rich and brave. And girls of Billawa community are well-educated. So Billawas are rich in every field.

In the tournament Sathish Poojary-the President of Billawas Dubai, Rajkumar-the President of Guruseva Samithi Baharain Billawas, S K Poojary-the President of Oman Billawas, Chithrek Bangera- the President of Kuwait Billawa Sangha, Dayananda Bontra-the President of Gujarath Billawa Sangha, Santhosh Kumar-Yuvavahini Kendra Samithi Mangaluru, Lohith Kumar-the president of Shri Narayana Guru Yuvavedike Mangaluru, Shekara Karkera-the President of Billawara Parishath, Udupi, Ravi Poojary Chilimbi- Akhila Bharatha Billawa Ekikarana Samithi Mangaluru, were present on the occasion.

Chitra Suvarna and Sugandhi Satish recited the prayer. Rajashekar R. Kotian Mudarangadi – the President of Billawa Sports committee and the Karnataka State film fare awardee welcomed the gathering. M. Chandrashekara Suvarna – the Executive President of Sports Committee delivered introductory speech. Bipin Prasad Mulky – the convenor, Vijayakumar Kubevoor –the Chief Secretary, Harishchandra Amina Katapady – the Treasurer, Organizers Surendra A. Poojary, Harish G. Amin, Srinivas R. Karkera, Bhaskar M. Salian, Urmila Ramesh Kumar, Dinesh Amin, Chidambar Heraje, Nilesh Poojary Palimar offered flower bouquets to the guests. Narendra Kerekadu –the convenor introduced the guests and compered the programme. Nithyananda D. Kotian – the President of Billawa Association Mumbai proposed the vote of thanks.

Harish Shanti Hejamady performed Pooja to Brahmashri Narayana Guru. Tournament began by worshipping Kotichennayyaand Kanthabarebudabare. All India Billawa Union and Billawa Jagruthi Balaga Mumbai teams fought at the first tournament. Jaya Suvarna – the Honorary President honoured the umpires Ronald Pinto, Ibrahim Udupi, Suleman Katapady and Rajesh Mulky offering mementos.

Vijayakumar Kubevoot gave information about the sports meet.

The film,”Brahmashri Narayana Guruswami” produced and directed by Rajashekara R. Kotian was exhibited at the evening. This film had won ‘special social concern film’ award by the Karnataka State Film Award in the year 2014.
