Inauguration of auditorium at Adyapady church held on Jan 26

Mangaluru: The new auditorium built in memory of tenth anniversary of new building of Adyapady church was inaugurated by Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D' Souza on Tuesday, January 26.

The Holy Mass was offered by the bishop at 10.15 am. Vicar general Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, MLA J R Lobo and B A Moidin Bava, Vicarvar Remigius Aranha, Antony Lobo, Taluk panchayat member Johnson Lobo, Kandavara grama panchayat president Vijaya Gopal Suvarna, Stephan Mendes, Four winds mass communications director Elias Fernandes and others were present as guests. The programme was lead by Fr Melwin D' Souza, vice president of parish pastoral council Walter Monteiro and secretary Johnson D' Souza. Those who helped in the construction were honored on the occasion.

The church was established in Adyapady of Kandavara grama panchayat limits. Catholic families of Adyapady, Malavooru and Kolambe come under the church limits. Six parish priests have served in the parish inaugurated by late bishop Dr Basil Salvodore D' Souza in 1972.
