Ivan D’Souza wants case to be filed against Yeddyurappa

Mangaluru: Ivan D’Souza, chief whip of the government in state legislative council said that Income Tax department and Enforcement Directorate (ED) should file a suo motu case against former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa for misusing its name.

Ivan told reporters, "IT department and ED should register a suo motu case and conduct investigations against Yeddyurappa. CM Siddaramaiah has already countered Yeddyurappa’s allegations as baseless and offered to quit politics if charges are proved. Even if a document (diary seized by IT department from MLC K Govindaraju) against Siddaramaiah does exist with the IT department, an inquiry needs to be conducted on how Yeddyurappa came to know about it. Is he (Yeddyurappa) an official of the IT department? The central government is misusing the IT department and ED to target Congress leaders in Karnataka.".

Lashing out at Yeddyurappa, Ivan said, "People of Karnataka will not trust Yeddyurappa against whom 15 cases of corruption have been registered by the Lokayukta. Further, he is also facing trial in many cases registered against him."
