JC Shylaja A Rao installed as new president of JCI

Mangaluru: The installation ceremony of president JC Shylaja A Rao and LOM governing board of JCI here, took place on January 19 at Lions Seva Mandir, Mallikatte in the city.

The event was graced by the presence of Rtn Rajendra Kalbavi, as the esteemed chief guest for the day, JC Anil Kumar, guest of honour JC Rakesh Kunjoor zonal President Zone XV 2018, JC Sadannada Navada PEVP JCI India and JC Dr Aravinda Rao past zonal president.

Rajendra Kalbavi, an orator par excellence in construction and education was the perfect person to inspire everyone gathered by his presence. JC Rakesh is a press reporter from Udupi, an active JC and current zone president of Zone XV.

Both the dignitaries shared their views with the audience. Kalbavi spoke on the importance of social service and individual development and stated how they both go hand in hand, while JC Rakesh zone president gave a brief account on the importance of being socially active and explained how JCI came into being as well as its vision to reach 5000 + members. He also emphasized that JCs play an important role in shaping the future of youth by encouraging them to participate in training activities.

The event began with outgoing president JC Vikas Shetty presenting the annual report in a very unique and engaging manner. The collar was then handed over to president elect JC Shylaja A Rao and the 200 strong, jam-packed audience gave a standing ovation. JC Shylaja A Rao delivered her incoming president’s speech and proceeded by installing the new secretary JC Shewtha Jain, JC Akshatha Kamath LOM editor JCRT Chethana Jyothi Rahul as JCRT chairperson and JCLT Vidwith Jain as junior Jaycee president and the BODs.

In her incoming speech, she mentioned her future plans, projects and fund raising for permanent projects. She also released the LOM bulletin – DISHA, which is a platform for all enthusiastic members to show off their skills. This was released by the zone president JC Rakesh Kunjoor.

The induction of the new members was conducted by past national executive vice president JCI JC Anil for 10 members.

The event came to a close, with the honoring of the past president JC Vijay Vishnu Mayya who excelled in the civil engineer association as well as JC B Krishnamurthy for dedicating his life in JC career for 30+ years. ZVP in-charge JC Manamohana Balladka felicitated JCI MangalUrU and assured his support throughout the year. The ceremony came to an end with vote of thanks by secretary JC Shwetha Jain and the president adjourned it for light fellowship dinner.

The event was a huge success.
