Jail inmates attack police personnel in prison

Mangaluru: In yet another shocking news frpm district prsion in Mangaluru, inmates of the district prison tried to attack police personnel belonging to district armed reserve (DAR) police force, who were escorting them back to the prison after producing them in the court relating to cases they are involved with. The incident occurred on Thursday October 6.

The police team accompanying the prisoners had reached the prison premises. Near the prison gate, two of the inmates got engaged in heated exchange of words. DAR personnel came forward to quell the fight. At this point, several inmates came together and tried to attack the policemen.

After a report about the incident was received, higher officials in the department began an investigation into this development.
