ICYM Central Council Annual Elections of Mangalore Diocese for the year 2018 -19 was held during the 71th Annual General Body Meeting at Urwa Church Hall on July 1st 2018. 71st Annual General Body Meeting and Elections commenced with The Holy Eucharistic Celebration at Urwa Church. Main celebrant of The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was Rev. Fr. Nelson Dheeraj Pais, Assistant Parish Priest, Urwa Church along with Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza, Ajekar - Director, ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza - Assistant Director, ICYM Mangalore Diocese, followed by the 71st Annual General Body Meeting of ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese which commenced at 11:00 am along with ICYM Central Council Diocesan Election at 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm under the guidance of Diocesan Election Commissioner Rev. Fr. Vijay Victor Lobo, Procurator of Mangalore Diocese along with the Election Committee Members and the election was carried out smoothly, followed by the lunch.

Mr. Reuben Machado got applauded by all the youth gathered at the venue for his mesmerising instrumental play through flute, harmonica and guitar along with this even other few youth exhibited their talents. Mr. Ashwin Jossy Periera - Former Diocesan Executive Member and Producer of Upcoming Kannada Movie "Asathoma Sadgamaya" and his team were present to promote his movie which will be released on 6th July 2018. The much awaited elections with huge expectations, provided nail biting results which was announced by the Election Commissioner Rev. Fr. Vijay Victor Lobo. The Elected members are as follows Jaison Periera, Shirthday as President, Noyal Dsouza, Permannur as Vice - President, Preema Pinto, Kirem as Lady Vice - President, Fevisha Monteiro, Ranipura as Secretary, Aneesh Lobo, Kadaba as Joint Secretary, Jovel Fernandes, Naravi as Treasurer, Meer Manish Sequeira, Badyar as Auditor.

The concluding ceremony of 71st Annual General Body Meeting and Elections commenced at 4:00 pm presided by V. Rev. Fr. Walter Dmello - Judicial Vicar of Mangalore Diocese, he appreciated the youth for their collective work and service to the society. Rev. Fr. Stany Periera, Parish Priest, Urwa Church, Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza Ajekar - Director, ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza - Assistant Director, ICYM Mangalore Diocese were present as the guests of honour. The oath taking ceremony was administered by the Diocesan ICYM Director Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza. Executive and Council Members of ICYM Central Council were felicitated for their selfless service during the year 2017 - 2018. Meanwhile 6 wedded couples were felicitated for their selfless service in the past years as a Diocesan Executive Members. 5 outstanding youth achievers were honoured with “ICYM Awards - 2018” for their achievements in various fields. Top 10 Best ICYM Units were awarded with Best Unit Awards and 3 Deaneries were also awarded with Unique Programme Awards for organising Unique Programmes in the Deanery.

On this auspicious day ICYM Central Council has taken its 3rd New initiative on Eye Donation. V. Rev. Fr. Walter Dmello inaugurated the logo of Eye Donation initiative with the theme - " Drishti - Let someone see the world through your eyes " along with this, ICYM Central Council has taken an initiative recently on June 24th 2018 on the day of P.S.T.A training programme about " Grow Green - Each One Plant One ". Diocesean President Mr. Elroy Saldanha, Omzoor welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Diocesan General Secretary Mr Joel Concessao, Milagres read out the Annual Report 2017 - 18 and thanked each and everyone through Vote of Thanks. Mr. Sanod Lobo, Shamboor compered the programme. Total of more than 600 youth were present for the programme. The programme concluded with ICYM Anthem.
