Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy goes all out in promoting Tulu language

Mangaluru: The Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy held a press meet on June 20 at the Tulu Sahitya Academy office, MCC to present the summary of programmes conducted in the last one year and the programmes to be conducted in the year 2015-2016.

Speaking on the occasion Janaki M Brahmavar president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy said, “ Tulu language will be the third subject in schools in the coastal area. We are trying to implement it from three years, but due to various reasons we could not do it. This year Puttur has been decided as the centre to implement it."

Janaki also added that during the year 2014-15 a total of 10 people were given Tulu research fellowship of Rs 50, 000 each.

Chandrahasa Rai B, registrar Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Jayasheela Maroli, Roopa Kala Alva, professor Vedavathi, D M Kulal and Mohan Koppala were present at the meet.
