Udupi : Even though Konkani language having around 2000 years of history due to the various reasons like impact of other languages or other reasons may be Konkani language does not get sufficient publicity. But the government tried to establish Academy, language institutions for the development of Konkani language. For the development of the Konkani language, some of the thinkers are looking for some of the contributions to establish “Konkani Sansar Prathistan” at Udupi which will be inaugurated at Ravindra Kala Mandir, M.G.M. College, Udupi on Saturday, 19th December, 2015, said Dr. Nagesh Kumar G. Rao, Founder President of Konkani Sansar Prathistan, Manipal.

While speaking to media persons at Udupi, he said that Dr. H. Shantaram, Administrator of Manipal Academy of General Education will inaugurate the programme.

During the inaugural ceremony of Konkani Sansar Prathistan, officials Dr. Nirmala Rao, Dr. H. Shantaram, Yashwanth Bhakta, Ganesh Pai Thonse, Upendra Nayak, K. Prakash Shenoy, H. Prakash Shanbour, T. Ranga Pai, K. Sharada Bhat, Dr. Aravind Nayak, Smt. Kusuma Kamath and others will be the guests to present.

During the occasion, the achievers for Konkani Language Tara Bhat, Song aritist Sangeetha Bhakta and Shantaram Baliga will be felicitated. At the end, under the patronage from Rotary Manipal Konkani play “Undra pheel” will be played.

During the press meet, along with Dr. Nagesh Kumar, G. Rao, K. Sharada Bhat, H. Prakash Shanbaug, Yashvanth Bhakta, K. Prakash Shenoy and others were present.
