Konkani film Sophiya to release on May 12

Mangaluru: Konkani movie 'Sophiya' is all set to hit theatres across Mangaluru on Friday on May 12

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, Janet Noronha, producer of the film said, "'Sophiya' is a complete family entertainer and a big budget Konkani movie. The film movie will be released at Prabhath Theatre. Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D Souza, NRI entrepreneur Ronald Colaco, Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes and wife Blossom Fernandes, MLC Ivan D'Souza, and MLA J R Lobo will take part in the release ceremony of the movie.

Director Harry Fernandes said, "When I was making 'Noshibacho Khell' movie, producer Janet Noronha was impressed with my work and approached me to do a film called 'Sophiya'. So we started working in it. The budget was double compared to 'Noshibacho Khell'. We have produced a quality movie which is a complete package of entertainment for the audience. I have experience of directing Marathi and Bhojpuri movies and now it feels good to do another Konkani movie."

The film is releasing with lots of expectations and has lots riding on it.
