LVP Hr. Pry. School Puttur, Santhekatte celebrated Annual School Day

Udupi: LVP Higher Primary School, Puttur, Santhekatte, near here celebrated Annual School Day on Friday, 12th December, 2014. On the occasion of the school day, in the morning school flag was hoisted by Karamballi Vishwanath Acharya of V. P. Buildiers, Udupi, Melleshappa J. C. Asst. Director of Akshara Dashova Udupi. Surej Vidya Sheth Alumni gave the prizes. After the flag hoisting ceremony pyramid exhibition of the students was held.

The stage program in the evening was held presided by Very Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo Correspondent of Milagres Institutions and Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas Secretary of Catholic Educational Society of Udupi Diocese, P. Yuvaraj President of Udupi Muncipal council, Chandrakanth Naik Muncipal councilor of Gopalapura ward, Walter Cyril Pinto Vice President of Milagres Cathedral Parish Pastoral Council, Sandashiva Acharya PTA President, Dr. Nerry Cornelio Alumni Association President, Florine D'Souza Head Mistress of the school, Gururaj Sanil, Sitharam Bhat and Sathish Naik were present on the dais.

The guests of the occasion were escorted to the dais by the school brass band. Followed by prayer dance by the students, the guests were taken to their seats. A welcome dance was displayed by the students. Syamala teacher welcomed the gathering.

Felicitation program was held during the occasion. Gururaj Sanil the snake catcher of Laxminagar, Sitharam Bhat PTA President of 2013/14 and Sathish Naik School Development Committee President were felicitated by the guests on the dais.

During his speech Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas said that the teachers in the school are mother to the students. They take care of the students with utmost sincerity with the intention of overall development of the individual. Yuvaraj pointed out the role of the parents and old students for the development of the school. LVP School here has achieved a lot and a large number of students have succeeded in their life since more than eight decades.

Dr. Nery Cornelio also spoke during the occasion. Fr. Stany Lobo blessed the occasion and gave his presidential address with the appreciation of the school old students and the teaching staff under the leadership of Head Mistress Florine Mascarenhas for the growth of the school.

Earlier Head Mistress Florine Mascarenhas presented the annual school report. Prizes were distributed for merit students during the academic year. Various cultural programs like dances and skits were displayed during the occasion. At the end there was unexpected light shower, which interrupted the celebration. Vaishnavi and Sneha compered the cultural programme.
