Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing observes 'World Breast Feeding Week'

Mangaluru: The department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing in collaboration with department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, A J Institute of Medical Sciences, here, Observed 'World Breast Feeding Week 2018' at A J IMS, 6 th floor, Postnatal ward, Kuntikana.

The theme for this year was 'Breast feeding foundation of life'. Dr Savitha B S, medical superintendent, Lady Goschen Hospital, Mangaluru was the chief guest for the day. She highlighted the theme and spoke about the importance of breastfeeding.

Dr Larissa Martha Sams, principal, presided over the programme.

Dr Kavitha D’Souza professor and HOD of OBG department AJIMS, Mangaluru, welcomed the gathering.

Sandhya D’Almeida HOD OBG Nursing was present for the programme. A health talk was presented by Dr Nikhitha regarding myths on breastfeeding and demonstration on breastfeeding positions was dealt with by Raina Menezes.

Around 100 delegates were present at the programme.
