Lourdes Central School holds Diwali celebrations

Mangaluru: With Diwali round the corner, Lourdes Central School held a raft of activities to celebrate the festival.

On October 28, a special assembly was organized to celebrate Diwali with devotion, enthusiasm and excitement. The assembly started with the prayer song followed by a speech on the importance of the festival in Kannada by Sunidhi Hegde of Class VII. The students of class II added religious fervor to the atmosphere as they dressed up in different characters from the Ramayana and depicted the mythology in a dance-drama form.

Welcoming the festival of lights, students of class V performed Bharatanatyam and unfolded their creative abilities. To keep alive the spirit of share and care, Sakshi Shetty, Head Girl highlighted the importance of safe and peaceful Diwali. A message was conveyed to the students to have a Cracker Free Diwali.

Addressing on the occasion, principal Fr Robert D’Souza appealed the students to go for eco-friendly Diwali and wished all a happy and peaceful Diwali. The assembly was concluded with a wishful song.

The school had complete festive mood as the students decorated their classroom with lanterns, diyas and rangoli.
