MP Kateel assures of calling public consultation meeting regarding upgradation of Central Railway Station

Mangaluru: DK MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that a public consultation meeting on the modalities to upgrade Mangaluru Central Railway Station would be called in a month.

Speaking after laying foundation stones for the construction of an additional platform at Central, line doubling between Netravathi Cabin Central, foot overbridge connecting all platforms and the second entry on the Attavar-side, MP Kateel said that Union Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda had suggested to him to elicit public opinion about improving the station during the flagging of the Kudla Express in the morning.

The MP asked Southern Railway to execute the works at the earliest so as to extend the benefits to the general public. Meanwhile, the Railways would improve the road connecting Central Station with Town Hall at a cost of Rs. 23 lakh, he added. Besides, the road connecting Mangaluru Junction Station with the main road would also be improved, he added. Divisional Railway Manager of Palakkad Naresh Lalwani and others were present.
