Malaika group organizes annual ‘Customer Meet’

Mangaluru: The prestigious Malaika Group which is well known for home appliances, consumer goods and dress materials, organised annual customer meet on May 29 at St Anne’s Mini Hall near Pio Mall on Jail Road, Bejai.

Welcoming the guests and customers, Gilbert Baptist, chairman and managing director of the group explained about the beginning and steady growth of Malaika Group which operates through its own Malaika Multi State Co-Op Credit Society Ltd and has 23 outlets in three states and cities like Mumbai, Thane and Mangalore.

“We started off in Mumbai in 1987 in a small 60 sq ft outlet by manufacturing small electronic components. Today we have grown to a 60,000 sq ft area in Mumbai. More than making profits, we want to provide employment opportunities and involve the common people to be our shareholders by providing them a chance to invest in our society. Our objective is to provide the household goods at affordable rates,” he said.

Many spot games were conducted and customers were encouraged to come up with suggestions, feedback about company’s products and services and many customers conveyed their point of views.

Hemacharya, editor in chief, daijiworld weekly speaking on the occasion explained how ‘Customer Focus’ is vital for any company towards progress and prosperity. He gave the example of SONY group in which Gilbert Baptist himself was associated initially. “I have observed the sales persons of Malaika Group’ going beyond their jobs as sales persons and providing service to the customers beyond their satisfaction,” he said.

Raymond D’Cunha, editor ‘Pingara’ Kannada weekly described the growth of Malaika as spectacular and expressed company’s customer centric schemes. Fr Roopesh Madtha, asst parish priest Permannur Church and others spoke about the company’s business performance.

“We hope to see the strength of staff from the present 300 growing to 3000 in ten years duration,” said Fr Roopesh.

Fr Jagadish Pinto conducted the prayer service in the beginning of the meeting.

Marcelina G Baptist distributed the prizes to the winners of spot games. John G Mendonca, Cyprian Sampige from Mumbai office, Stany Alvares, Cyril Crasta, company’s regional manager, Ms. Reena, Business Development Manager, Konkani novelist Herolpius among others were present.
