Man commits suicide in lodge at Puttur

Puttur: A person from Madikeri, who had hired a room in a lodge in Puttur, hanged himself from the ceiling fan of his room on the night of Saturday March 5. The deceased has been identified as Purushotham PJ (38) from Kannandambane in Madikeri.

Purushotham PJ had been staying at the room since March 2. On Saturday night, he locked himself inside his lodge room and used a bed sheet to hang himself from the ceiling fan. He is said to have committed suicide as he was depressed that his wife had committed suicide along with a small child few years back.

A case relating to this incident was filed in the town police station.
