Manipal Health Cards distribution ceremony held at SP office Udupi

Udupi: Manipal Arogya Suraksha Health cards distribution ceremony was held at Udupi district, Superintendent office conference Hall on Saturday, 30th January, 2016 which was sponsored by G. Shankar Family Trust, Ambalpady, Udupi along with Mogaveera Yuva Sanghaton and Manipal University for district police persons and retired police persons.

After inaugurating the occasion, Nadoja Dr. G. Shankar said that very hardworking police personal need proper health care to serve the public. He thanked Annamalai district Superintendent of Police for giving opportunity to provide Manipal Health Cards to the police both in service and retired. He also thanked the Manipal University Chancellor, Dr. T. Ramdas Pai for his initiative to increase the benefit from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000 for in patients and asked the police to take advantage from the University Health card.

Annamalai S.P. presided the occasion. Dr. Padmanabha Hegde, Assistant Medical Superintendent of K.M.C. Hospital Manipal, Santhosh Kumar, Additional SP, Ganesh Kanchan, President of Mogaveera Yuva Sanghaton, Udupi, Sandanand Balkur past President of Mogaveera Yuva Sanghaton and Dr. Prabhudeva Mane, retired DySP, Udupi were present on the dais.

During the occasion, Dr. G. Shankar was felicitated by Annamalai SP on behalf of District Police with shawl, garlad, fresh fruits and memento for his outstanding support for the poor in all sections of the society and those who are in need.

Dr. Raviraj Hegde also spoke during the occasion. Dr. G. Shankar voluntarily handed over health cards to Annamalai during the occasion and meanwhile, voluntarily handed over health cards to Dr.Prabhudeva Mane for the retired police personal during the occasion.

During his presidential address, Annamalai SP gave gratitude to G. Shankar for his valuable initiative for the police in the district. This good job is in no other places in the state as well as in the country which provides valuable help under the private section for the police in the district. Around 90% police personal will use OPD facilities without paying anything. Police will get Police Bhagya from the state government, but this health card would be more useful for the police. He appreciated G. Shankar for extending facilities to retired police which will be a great step which will be badly needed by them. The 958 free health cards distribution to the police will be a record in India under the private section.

The programme started with an invocation prayer by Udaykumar Head, Constable at Manipal Police Station. Ganesh Kanchan gave introduction talk and welcomed the gathering. B. Manmohan Rao, Acting PSI at District Police Control Room, Udupi compered the programme while Santhosh Kumar Additional SP proposed vote of thanks.
