Manipal residents unhappy with the transfer of Anganawadi assistant suddenly

Udupi, 25th Jan.16: Ishwarnagar ward residents and parents of Adarsh Nagar 2 Anganawadi Centre disappointed on sudden transfer of Anganawadi assistant worker to other place and held meeting at Adarsh Nagar 2 Anganwadi Centre at Manipal on Monday, 25th January, 2016.

In his address, Mahesh Takur, Udupi CMC Councillor of Ishwarnagar Ward, Manipal said that it’s not a protest but disappointed with the transfer of Adarshnagar 2 Anganawadi Centre’s assistant worker to Shanthinagar Anganawadi Centre immediately without any information to the Anganwadi teacher Lalitha.

He said that Adarshnagar 2 Anganawadi centre there are 24 kids who have been taking care of with utmost care and service. It’s difficult to work in the centre that assistant would maintain cleanliness, cooking, cleaning utensils, and taking care of everything. The Centres need immediate assistant which the Anganawadi centre is very famous for the smooth running and best services provided. Here, assistant helper cum teacher badly needed for the growth and development of around 24 children.

The members of public and parents were contacted by the respective Child Development officials who said that the department is not going to transfer the assistant of the Centre. The parents and members of the public requested the department not to transfer the existing assistant till alternative arrangements for the new appointed is made.

Upendra Nayak, Former President of Zilla Panchayat, Susheela Nade, Secretary of Anganawadi Workers Association, Lalitha Anganawadi Assistant teacher, Krishnanand Bhat Parent of the child spoke during the meeting.

Mahesh Takur welcomed the gathering, compered the programme and delivered vote of thanks.
