‘Martyrs Day’ observed in St Philomena College Puttur

Puttur: To commemorate the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to pay tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation St Philomena College Puttur observed ‘Martyrs Day’ on January 30, 2016.

The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha paid floral tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and said, ‘I pay homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and also to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.’

Ms. Sahana Rao and team sang the prayer ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’, which was a favourite of Mahatma Gandhi. Two-minute silence was observed at 11 AM in memory of Mahatma Gandhi and the martyrs. Senior journalist Mr. Gopalakrishna Kuntini, members of the staff and the students have participated in these events.
