Milagres Cathedral Kallianpur celebrated annual feast with devotion and pomp

Udupi: Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur celebrated annual parish feast with much devotion and pomp on Wednesday, 20th January, 2016. Prior to the Solemn High festive Eucharistic celebrations, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo distributed special candles of honor to the large benefactors, patrons, parish pastoral members and so on. The candles were also distributed to all families of the parish by the Rector of the Cathedral. Retd. Professor Smt. Hilda D’Silva read out very long list of names with patience and excellence.

The Solemn High Eucharistic celebrations was led by His Lordship Most Rev Dr. Jerald Almeida, Bishop of Jabalpur, Ecclesiastical Province of Bhopal along with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of the Cathedral, Pilar Fathers, deanery priests, guest priests and other priests.

In his homily, noted preacher Rev Fr. Wilfred Frank of Carmelites pointed out three important attacks, heart attack, brain attack and soul attack that on Prayer, Love and Service. He said Virgin Mary is the Mother of God as well as Daughter of Lord. We should have faith and love with God, the divine mercy. His hard hitting sermon on Jesus Our Lord and his divine mercy reflected devotees into the faith on God.

At the end of the mass, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo expressed gratitude to the Bishop of Jabalpur and all the priests who had participated in the grand festive mass. He also expressed gratitude to all concerned including parish pastoral council members, finance committee members, choir, faculty of Milagres Institutions, catechism teachers, donors, well wishers and to all who gave support to the parish. He also conveyed his festive greetings to all parishioners and guests on the occasion. He also gave gratitude to donors for the current project of the church and appealed others residing nearby parishes to give generous support for their mother parish.

The marvelous choir led by Rev Fr. Mahesh D’Souza, Principal of Milagres English Schools fueled great celebrations of festive mass with the tunes of noted and famous playback singers like Prajoth D’Sa, Nelson, Daina, Waylon and others with the support of violin players. Wow! fantast tic team of Choir.

Devotees were seen offering candles near the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles for the favors received through her intercession. Devotees also visited the YCS/YSM and ICYM put up stalls for the entertainment. Usually large crowd visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles and offered prayers.

Around four thousand students studying in Milagres Educational Institutions from Kindergarten to Post Graduate in Kallianpur under Udupi Diocesan Educational Board which were first than none other than St. Mary’s Institutions in Shirva. But unfortunately without Educational Campus Director, from the support of local management and tireless faculty, Milagres Institutions continuously bags plenty of ranks in university every year after the installation of new Diocese, shining in sports, who participate at national level and also getting awards from national level, shining everywhere in curricular educational and sports activities which is one of the leading Institutions in Catholic Board of Udupi diocese. The Mother of Miracles, the patroness of Milares Institutions who backs with strong support for the every success and achievements in various fields.
