Milagres College Kallianpur inaugurates SC/ST cell

Udupi: SC/ST cell and its activities were inaugurated by journalist and RTI activist from Udupi, Rama Diwana at Milagres College, Kallianpur.

“The truth we believe today has to be validated by ourselves before believing and acting upon it. Various attempts have been made in recent times to rewrite the fact, in the favour of some groups of society,” said Diwana.

He urged the students to voice against injustice without any fear.

Chief guest of the day, Prof Cyril Mathias said, “Equal opportunity centre aims at bringing awareness on equality and justice amongst the students in the college. One must be proud of his and other’s caste and religion.”

Dr Vincent Alva, in his presidential remarks pointed out the need of SC/ST cells in colleges. He encouraged all the students to involve themselves in activities of the Cell.

Convener of the cell SandeepShetty, department of English, welcomed the gathering. Vanitha of II BCom A compered the event and president of SC/ST cell, Yashodha of III BCom A rendered the vote of thanks.
