Milagres College organized Lectures on Rural Banking - opportunities and Challenges

Udupi: Milagres College, Kallianpur in association with Chair in Rural Banking and Management, Mangalore University organized special lectures on Rural Banking – Opportunities and Challenges at Audio Visual Hall of Milagres College on Tuesday, 22nd March, 2016.

Dr. Nery Cornelio, Principal of Milagres College presided over the inaugural session of the occasion. One of the resource person, Mr. P. Palani Samy, Regional Manager, Syndicate Bank, Udupi during his address said that Syndicate Bank introduced financial inclusion in rural for the first time in the history of banking sector in the country that we can say pigmy collection in 1928. Syndicate Bank has given plenty of financial support to the downtrodden and poor people. Financial inclusion and financial literacy have been important policy goals for quite some time. The financial inclusion has been focusing on financial inclusion of Indian rural and semi-rural areas, he said.

Dr. Nery Cornelio during his presiding address said that students should take sufficient knowledge from these seminars for the betterment of the future. He gave gratitude to conveners as well as resource persons for organizing one of the best programme of the college in the University.
