Monthi Fest celebration at St. Rita Church, Cascia

The feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary was solemnly celebrated at St. Rita Church, Cascia on 8th September, 2018.

The nine days of Novena concluded with the final flower offering, where children and the parishioners carrying varieties of baskets with beautiful flowers venerated Infant Mary during the prayer lead by the parish priest.

It was followed by the procession from Mr and Mrs Richard Jane Pintos House, Morgansgate towards the church and the flowers were offered to Mamma Marys cradle at the church premises. The solemn feast mass was celebrated by the main celebrant Rev Fr Harold Mascarenhas and co celebrant Rev Fr Rupesh Madtha. The new grains were consecrated during the mass.

After the holy mass the parish priest blessed the powdered grains which was kept at the altar and it was mixed with payasam by the vice president and the parishioners were given new grains and sugarcane followed by the breakfast and payasam which was served to all. Parish Priest Rev Fr Harold Mascarenhas, Resident Priest Rev Fr Rupesh Madtha, Vice President Jossy Theodore Secretary Vivita Dsouza and all the parishioners celebrated Monthi fest as one family.
