Muslim girl attending church feast causes tension

Published On : 08 Dec 2015   |  Reported By : Canaranews Network

Mangaluru: A Muslim girl was taken to task by male members from her community for attending a feast at a church on Sunday December 6 at Merlapada, Mangaluru.

The engineering student had gone to the church with another girl, a Christian classmate. As the girl was wearing a hijab, some Muslim boys, who were present at the feast, noticed her.

The group harassed the girl and wanted to know what she was doing there. The girl was then asked to give her parents’ mobile number. The miscreants threatened to call her parents and complain about her presence at the church feast.

When the situation turned chaotic, persons in charge of church events asked the boys to leave the premises and settle the issue outside.
