Nadoja Dr. G. Shanker celerbated 60th Birthday with distribution of aid to Kidney and Cancer Patients

Udupi : Nadoja Dr. G. Shanker, Trustee of G. Shanker Family Trust celebrated 60th Birthday with distinctive atmosphere by distributing aid to more than 1000 kidney and Cancer patients and aid to orphanage homes, old age homes and special schools at Shamili Hall, Udupi on Monday, 5th October, 2015.

The programme began with an invocation prayer by Vijaya Suvarna Malpe and beautiful prayer dance. Shamili, daughter of G.Shanker couple welcomed the gathering.

In his key note address, Nadoja Dr. G. Shanker said that in his 60 years of life, he found up and downs. He went to Bejapur with the dream of earning and he started with Rs. 180 wages and day by day he earned good and developed in this stage with the help and blessings from his parents. In his earlier days, he understood the feelings of poor and the needy people. He started the habit of distribution of something which he earned for the needy with the help of God. He said he recovered the debt of native soil and yet to recover the debt at Bijapur which he never fails.

He further said that he is happy to celebrate his 60th Birthday with large patients who are suffering from chronic diseases, who need confidence. When we live in society, we have to give back something to the society who need badly in several ways. He is happy to give something for the patients what God has given him even though he would have no sufficient bank balance. He wanted to give help in sense of food, health and education for the poor.

The programme was inaugurated by 4 year old Blood Cancer patient Saumya, daughter of Lingaraj and Veena of Amruthpura, North Karnataka along with Justice S.R. Naik, President of State Legal Commission, Bangalore and other guests on the dais by lighting the lamp. Rs. One lakh was donated to Saumya for her treatment during the occasion.

In his address, Justice S. R.Nayak appreciated the work done by the G. Shanker along with his wife and daughter for the society who needs badly in the field of education, health and food. He called as “Vishwa Manava” for his outstanding welfare service for the needy. It’s great that Shanker is not only helping his community but all the people without the caste, religion or creed. Some rich people spend only for their families and for personal advantages and selfishness but Shaker is different, he spends for all communities for their good.

During his address, Dr. P. V. Bhandary well known Psychiatrist and Director of Dr. A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, Doddanagudde pointed out five “D” s., that we should fight diseases with determination, with discipline in having food habits, devotion to God, destiny of patient and drugs, dialysis’ with proper time with the help of doctors.

Dr. S. Sachidananda, Associate Professor for Evaluation of Rajeev Gandhi University for Health Sciences, Bangalore in the absence of Dr. K. S. Ravindranath, Vice Chancellor of RGUHS spoke during the occasion and appreciated the work done by G.Shanker Fly Trust and he extended his greeting on the 60th Birthday of Dr. G. Shanker. He appreciated Dr. G. Shanker for his aid of Rs. One Crore towards Wenlock District Hospital, Mangaluru for the Cancer Unit.

Dr. Rohanchandra Gatti, Associate Professor and Head of Department of Surgical Oncology at Fr. Muller’s Medical College Hospital, Mangaluru also spoke during the occasion.

Dr. Ravindra Prabhu, Head of Department of Nephrology, K.M.C. Manipal and Sadananda Balkur, President of Mogaveera Yuva Sanghtana, Udupi district were also present on the dais and spoke during the occasion.

Four Kindney and Cancer patients and four Special Schools symbolically received aid from programme President Justice K.R. Naik where more than 1000 kidney and cancer patients from various hospitals like KMC Mangalore, KMC Manipal, Wenlock, Fr. Mullers’, Government Hospital Udupi, Gandhi Hospital, Mission Hospsital, Chinmaya Hosptial and Vinaya Hospital Kundapura, SCS Hospital and Mangala Hospital, Mangalore and individuals received aid from the Dr. Shanker Fly Trust.

Shalini Shanker was present on the dais. Ashith Anand delivered vote of thanks. Raghavendra Kanchan compered the programme.
