Nun ends life by jumping into well in Brahmavar

Udupi: A nun from Karunalaya Ashram in Brahmavar ended life by jumping into well on October 21, Friday . The deceased is Sr Arul Selvi (35). She was working as a part time teacher in Nirmala English Medium School, Brahmavar from past two years.

Sr Arul was not present for morning prayers in the Church. She had gone out informing her companion Philomena Saldanha that she will be back in sometime. As Sr Arul did not return she was worried and informed Sr Jaya, head of the Ashram.

They searched for her everywhere in the Ashram premises but effort went in vain. But later found her body floating in the well. They immediately informed Brahmavar police about the incident.

It is said that she was disturbed as her parents were only staying in her hometown. The exact reason for the extreme step is not known yet.
