Nutrition health and fitness expo held at FMCI Campus

Mangaluru: ‘Go forward with food’ a nutrition health and fitness expo 2018, was organized on by the management, staff and students of Father Muller College of Nursing at FMCI Campus premises opposite the OPD, here.

The nutrition, health and fitness - expo 2018 was inaugurated by an esteemed chief guest Prof Sanjana M Shenoy, consultant dietician, nutri health by a traditional opening of ‘palm jaggery,’ which symbolises goodness, an auspicious beginning and is highly valued due to medicinal properties and nutritive value.

In her addressal, Prof Sanjana M Shenoy congratulated the nursing fraternity for holding the event in order to educate the public. She also focused more on traditional eating habits of food.

President Fr Richard Coelho, director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, recalled the age old proverb 'uta ballvanige rogavilla, mathu ballavanige jagalavilla', the age old jackfruit with its seeds which brings to mind healthy eating habits.

Sr Jacintha welcomed the gathering. Sr Deepa Peter the convenor, introduced the chief guest. Shiji P J delivered the vote of thanks. Students of third year BSc lead the prayer. The programme was compered by Sr Nancy Priya Mathias and Joyce Fernandes.
