Official Visit of Bishop to St Philomena Educational Institutions Puttur

Puttur: The Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza visited St Philomena Educational Institutions Puttur on July 29, 2016.

Lord Bishop inaugurated the main entrance gate of St Philomena Educational Institutions and blessed on this occasion.

 

Later, as the college has reaccredited at ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in the third cycle of accreditation, the certificate issued by the NAAC was released by the Bishop. On this occasion, he complimented the college for securing “A” in the third cycle of accreditation.

On the happy occasion of 75th Birthday, 50 years of priesthood and 20 years of episcopacy His Lordship Bishop was felicitated. The citation was read out by Prof. Ganapathi S, HOD of Economics. NAAC coordinator Prof. Ganesh Bhat and IQAC coordinator Dr. A P Radhakrishna coordinated the release of NAAC certificate. The Correspondent Very Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto delivered introductory speech. The Campus Director and the Chairperson of Centre for PG studies and Research Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro graced the occasion. The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha welcomed the gathering. The Principal of St Philomena PU College Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo proposed the vote of thanks. The Assistant Professor of PG studies in Commerce Prof. Priyanka Adline D’Souza compered the programme.

In the concluding session, lunch on gathering was held. Here, on behalf of all the eight educational institutions managed by Mai De Deus church Puttur, Lord Bishop was felicitated. Mrs. Shakunthala T Shetty, MLA of Puttur and Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs participated as the guest of honour.
