Our Lady of Shrine Harihar – Grand finale of the Feast

September 9th 2017; After the eight days of novena, on September 7th at 4pm Fr. Franklin D’Souza and Fr. Roman Pinto led the Praise and Worship adoration. Then His Excellency Dr. K.A. William, Bishop of Mysore celebrated the Holy Eucharist together with His Excellency Dr. Francis Serrao Sj of the diocese of Shimoga. After the Holy Mass Bro. T. K. George and Fr. Franklin D’Souza led the Healing adoration for the faithful.

 

 

On September 8th festal day began with 5:30am Holy Mass celebrated by Shrine Rector Fr. Anthony Peter. At 6:30am then Telugu mass was offered followed by Syro Malabar Holy Qurbana at 7:45am celebrated by His Excellency Dr. Lawrence Mukuzhy of Diocese of Belthangady. At 9am Fr. Rayappan Professor of St. Peter’s Pontifical Seminary celebrated Tamil mass. At 10:15am Fr. Simon Pinto Professor of St. Peter’s Pontifical Seminary celebrated Holy mass in English. Main festal Mass at 11:30am was celebrated by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao Sj, Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga. In his homily he explained about the role of heavenly Mother in our lives also importance of Harihar feast. At 1:30pm Fr. Franklin D’Souza celebrated Konkani Holy Mass. At 3pm Bro. T. K. George and Fr. Roman Pinto led the healing adoration. At 4pm Fr. Minin Almeida celebrated Holy Mass in Kannada. At 5:30pm Parish Priest Fr. Anthony Peter blessed the Chariot of Mother Mary decorated with flowers and had a colorful procession through the streets of Harihar. The procession concluded with a thanks giving mass by the Rector Rev. Fr. Antony Peter. Thanks giving ceremony and felicitation of different responsibility holders were done at the end of the Mass. Around two lakhs devotees participated in the festal celebration.
