POWER Women entrepreneurs of Udupi to observe International Women's Day

Udupi: EMPOWER is an annual event of POWER, the Platform for Women Entrepreneurs will organize its Annual Day on International Women’s Day, the day when the POWER organization was started. POWER will be celebrating International Women’s Day 2016 along with School of Communication, Manipal University on 7th March, at SOC Auditorium, Manipal.

Addressing media persons here on Friday, Sarita Santosh, President of POWER, said that they started the Women’s Entrepreneur’s Association on March 8, 2009 coinciding with the International Women’s day and shall complete seven years of its existence. There will be a seminar “EMPOWER 2016” which will focus on Women Empowerment and also training sessions will be conducted by faculty of SOC for the benefit of Women’s Entrepreneurs on Team Building and Online Marketing.

She said this training will enhance the skills and knowledge of women entrepreneurs of Udupi District. As many as 10 eminent women would be felicitated on the occasion. Dr. Nandini Lakshmikanth of SOC said that SOC would train the women entrepreneurs in two batches. The training in first batch would be to establish women entrepreneurs. The training in other batch includes team building and they would be given tips on effective communication, body language and team building. Padmakumar K and Shruthi Shetty of SOC would be resource persons, she said.
