Pejavar Swamiji speaks about long association with GSB community

Udupi: Paryaya Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Math recalled the long and loving association the lineage of Sri Krishna Math shares with GSB community. He was delivering benedictory address after accepting the felicitaton offered to him by GSB community on Sunday after the community performed Dhanwantari Havana oblation earlier in the day at the Rajangana of the Math.

He noted that the GSB community had fled to Karnataka coast from Goa due to Portuguese oppression to save its culture and religion, and that has succeeded in business, education, religious rituals and such other sectors. He hailed the community for having a rich heritage. He said that both GSB community and Shivalli community are following the same principles with a slight difference in traditions. He added that Swamijis of GSB Maths and members of GSB community have always remained close to his heart.

Sri Vishwaprasannateertha Swamiji also spoke on the occasion, praising the GSB community for working hard and doing everything it does with dedication and sincerity.

On this occasion, Malpe Gopal Bhat and Panduranga Kudva were honoured. Gujjadi Prabhakar Nayak, Pangala Vilas Mayak, Manjunath C Nayak, Jagadeesh Nayak, Amrith Shenoy, Chempi Ramachandra Bhat, and others were present.
