Pejawar Swamiji conferred a civic reception

Udupi: Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji, the outgoing Paryaya seer was conferred a civic reception on Wednesday evening on the completion of his Paryaya period for a record fifth time in the 800 year old history of the Sri Krishna Mutt.

Speaking after accepting the felicitation, Pejawar Seer said, "I strongly believe that religious heads must keep away from politics. I have been guiding political parties irrespective of any affiliations whenever the need arose, my guidance was only pertaining to Dharma and environment related issues."

Both Sri Vishwesha Theertha and his junior seer Sri Vishwa Prasanna were honoured. Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji, the new Paryaya seer said he would follow the footsteps of his predecessor.
