Petrol bunks closed today

Udupi: All the petrol bunks in Udupi will be closed today. Under the leadership of Coastal Petroleum Dealers Association, 24 hours closure of Petroleum Stations in response to nationwide strike from 12th October midnight to 13th October midnight 2017 to pressure the government on their demands.

K. Prabhaker Shetty President of Coastal Petroleum Dealers Association, said that the strike has been called to press the government on their various demands, if the government does not relent, it would go for an indefinite closure of purchase and sale from 27th October, 2017 till the trade anomalies are resolved.

He said that oil marketing companies are not keen on resolving the issues and demands which they had earlier agreed on 4th November last year. Oil Marketing Companies had agreed to resolve issues pertaining to revision on return of investment revision of dealer margin every six month, revised manpower requirement, fresh study on petroleum products handling losses, product transportation issues and ethanol blending without proper equipment.
