Police arrest 56-year-old for illegally storing diesel

Puttur: Uppinangady police arrested a person, who was keeping stock of diesel illegally and selling it to people. Apart from arresting the persons concerned, they have recovered 175 litres of diesel from his possession.

The arrested accused has been identified as Dawood (56) of Tekkar village. The policemen raided Dawood's home relying on specific information, and found that five cans with 35 litres capacity had been stored there. They confiscated these five cans and also an empty can, besides arresting the accused.

The operation was conducted under the directions of probationary assistant superintendent of police, Laxman Nimbargi, by Uppinangady police station house officer, Timmappa Naik, supported by the personnel of his station.
