Police successfully arrest person for forging signature

Kundapur: The police squad headed by the deputy superintendent of police here has succeeded in arresting a person who was instrumental in forging the signature of the tahsildar in land records. The person who has been arrested is Nagesh Kamath (45) from Kody in Casba village. The arrest was made on Monday June 29.

During the verification of records, the tahsildar had recently found out that her signature had been forged in documents concerning land conversion application of a woman from Kody. Tahsildar, Gayatri Nayak, had filed a complaint in the police station here, seeking action against those who had forger the signature.

A police team led by deputy superintendent of police, M Manjunath Shetty, and police circle inspector, P M Diwakar, pursued the case vigorously and succeeded in arresting the accused on Monday. The policemen plan to produce him in the court on Tuesday, and seek his police custody for continuing with further investigation.
